LOS ANGELES —Lights. Camera. Action. Press the record on the iPhone. Today we are looking for different types of iPhone cases that are not designed for protection but for filmmakers of all of us. We are reviewing Hitcase, mcamlite and iOgrapher for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. You may have seen the \"shoot on iPhone\" ad campaign, touting great photos taken by iPhone ographers with their digital device. The campaign has recently added a new phase of attention to the video, which makes sense because there are also a lot of activities there. A new movie, orange, just released, was just as advertised recently for Bentley\'s car, entirely on the iPhone. But let me tell you a secret. Filmmakers did not hold iPhones for these projects. They installed the iPhone on a tripod with boxes, connected accessory lenses, and added audio and lighting. We started with Hitcase and it has an interesting sales pitch: what if you could grab a waterproof, shockproof iPhone case and it could also be used for great filmmaking? This is the idea behind Hitcase, which combines the \"tough\" case format with the accessory lenses of different views during video and photo production. Think about the iPhone\'s encounter with GoPro, which has a range of different accessories that can fit the phone on different objects like bike helmets, surfboards, and tripod. Hitcase is similar to many other waterproof cases of Otterbox, Vanskyand Merit, but quite different. There is a lens that sticks out to either improve your photos or make a bulky box wider and less bulky. I don\'t mind because I\'m a photographer and like to have luxurious glasses on the case. Hitcase is in my pocket without any problems, yes guys, there is a lens cover to protect your lens from the sand of the keys and other things in your pocket. Positioning the iPhone as a better action camera than GoPro might sound a bit far awayfetched — Are you really willing to destroy your precious mobile phone to gamble in an action environment? Take your iPhone 6, start with a $199 subsidy price, 2-year- Contract and then dip it in the water, hoping it won\'t get wet? No problem if you destroy your GoPro camera. Just change it and take one more. Your calendar, contacts, photos and the rest of your life are not there. But it makes sense to make a movie with an iPhone instead of GoPro. You went out to shoot and you wanted to upload your footage right away. With GoPro, you can pull out your memory card, plug it into your computer, and wait for WiFi to start rolling it out. But with Hitcase, your shots and images are on the phone and you can start uploading to social networking wherever you are. This is a good idea anyway. Hitcase says it\'s shockproof and waterproof. We threw it on the ground with no problem, but before we finally got it right, we had to try it several times to get a real waterproof seal. Be careful when you try this. I find it picky how you seal this case- It\'s hard to turn on and off. After the case was closed, I found it. The screen is not very responsive, but there is no problem when calling or charging. Hitcase is a good idea for people like me. Hopefully in the next release they will do it well. Next, let\'s take a look at two cases for filmmakers. Here are the rugged mCAMLITE and lighter iOgrapher case from Action Life Media. Apart from the weight, both are the same in every respect. MCAMLITEis is made of aluminum steel and weighs heavily. The good news is that if you hold hands, the building will help stabilize your hand and you will never have to worry if you put it down. It’s safe. IOgrapher is a soft shell made of premium polycarbonate, which costs $59. 99. MCAMLITE costs $129. 99, but there is also a wide accessory- Angle lens and external microphone. Both cases have a 37mm mount lens slot that can be plugged directly into the iPhone camera lens. It\'s really cool. Photographers can use this stand to install excellent lenses from many companies, not cheap plastic lenses on Hitcase. The quality of these lenses is much higher than the accessory clip. IPhone lenses like Olloclip are now available and affordable. Starting at $19, B & H Photo has a big choice. $99, up to $72. 89 photos taken by 4 far. In both cases, unless I am making a serious film and am worried about losing the device during the intense shooting, I will go to iOgrapher. Here’s why. Lighter case has all the features I want- Lens holder, tripod and two slots for lighting, to use it, you just slide your phone in and you\'re ready. Great MCAMLITE- I feel like I\'m making a movie when I use it, but there\'s a problem. In order to install the iPhone into mCAMLITE, you must first place a silicon enclosure around the device. It looks like a black case like my current iPhone, and I \'ve been there many times, remember to bring mCAMLITE- But not Silicon. This is a problem. What is your favorite movie production case?
